Why is this Important?
Guests often request changes to check-in or check-out times based on their travel plans. Accurate management of these times is crucial because it affects automated messages, access code creation, and other operational aspects in Hosthub. This article explains how to view, edit, and export check-in/out times for bookings.
Viewing Check-in/Out Times
In Booking Details
Go to your booking details page.
Check-in and check-out fields are displayed in datetime format (e.g.,
01/01/2025 11:00:00
).
In Dashboard Booking Card
Open the Dashboard.
Each booking card displays the check-in/out times.
In Inbox Booking Card
Open a conversation in the Inbox.
The booking card related to the conversation shows the check-in/out times.
In Bookings Index
Go to the bookings list.
Each booking row shows check-in/out times under the respective dates.
In Calendar and Multicalendar
Open the Calendar or Multicalendar.
Click on a booking to view the popover.
Check-in/out fields are shown as datetimes (
MM/DD/YYYY hh:00
).
Editing Check-in/Out Times
Setting Default Check-In/Out Times for Rentals
You can set default check-in and check-out times at the rental level that will apply to all future bookings:
Navigate to Setup > Rentals.
Click on the rental name.
Select Edit to access the rental's settings.
Scroll to the fields for Check-In Time and Check-Out Time.
Update the times to your desired values.
Click Save to apply the changes.
Important: These default settings will apply to new bookings but won't automatically update on connected external booking platforms like Booking.com. For complete synchronization, you'll need to update settings on each platform separately.
Go to the booking details.
Click “Edit Booking.”
Edit the check-in and check-out fields using the time picker widget.
Save your changes.
Exporting Bookings with Times
Go to the bookings list.
Choose to export bookings.
The exported file will include separate columns for check-in and check-out times.
Defaults: Check-in/out times initially inherit settings from the rental. If never changed, updates at the rental level apply to all bookings. Manual Edits: Once you edit and save times for a booking, those values remain even if rental settings change later. OTA Discrepancies: Times configured in Hosthub and those displayed on external OTAs can differ. Hosthub uses the settings you configure within its platform, while OTAs like Booking.com may display their own check-in and check-out time ranges depending on how they are set up directly on those platforms.
Automations related to checkin/checkout times:
Automated Messages: When check-in or check-out times change, all related automated messages are rescheduled accordingly.
Access Codes: When check-in or check-out times change, automatically generated temporary access codes are regenerated for the new schedule.
API Access: Check-in/out times can be set/modified using the Hosthub Open API.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Updates Not Reflected in Hosthub: Ensure you have correctly saved the updated times in the settings. Failing to save the changes will result in bookings displaying the previous settings.
Discrepancies Between Hosthub and OTAs: If you notice different check-in/check-out times on an external booking platform, verify the configuration on the respective OTA. Remember, changes in Hosthub do not propagate automatically to OTAs.
Check-In Time Defaults to 13:00 or 15:00: This happens when the rental's settings in Hosthub are not updated. Configure the desired times as outlined in the rental settings section.
