Rental Groups are the foundational data layer in Hosthub's architecture for organizing your entire portfolio. They are designed to act as a logical structure for managing and grouping properties, which is especially useful for operators managing large portfolios, aparthotels, or serviced apartments.
Creating and Managing Rental Groups
The ability to create and manage Rental Groups is available to the main Account Admin.
Creation and Linking: When creating a new rental or editing an existing one, you can link it to a Rental Group. You can either select an existing group or create a new one on the spot by simply entering a name.
Editing: As an Account Manager, you can edit a Rental Group's name, and add or remove associated rentals from it.
Access: Team Members (non-admins) can view the portfolio structure organized by groups but do not have access to edit the Rental Groups themselves.
How Rental Groups Streamline Your Operations
Rental Groups integrate across Hosthub to provide organization, contextual information, and streamlined management for your portfolio.
Rentals Page Organization
Your rentals page will display all rentals in a logical, structured view, organized under their assigned Rental Group name.
Rentals grouping will not be displayed if no groups are assigned to your rentals.
Bookings and Calendar
Bookings List: The bookings list can be filtered by Rental Group, and the table includes a column to display the associated Rental Group Title for quick identification and reporting.
Booking Creation & View: When manually creating a new booking or calendar block, the property selector uses a hierarchical selection starting with the Rental Group (Rental Group > Rental). The Rental Group Title is also displayed in the Booking Details Page and quick-view drawer.
Multi-Calendar: The Multi-Calendar organizes your portfolio hierarchically by Rental Group, which acts as a collapsible header for all associated Rentals. The Rental Group row displays an occupancy bar reflecting the collective utilization of all its child rentals.
Note: Rate editing is not permitted on the Rental Group header—it is only allowed at the Rental level.
Guest Communication
Inbox: You can filter conversations in the Hosthub Inbox by Rental Group to triage communications based on the building or portfolio. The Rental Group Title is also clearly displayed on the booking summary card within the conversation view.
Scheduled Messaging: You can create scheduled message rules that apply to an entire Rental Group, and use the dynamic variable {{rental_group_title}} in your message templates for automated personalization.
AI Co-host: The AI Co-host dashboard allows you to group, filter, and view performance statistics aggregated by Rental Group.
Team Management
Access Control: You can assign an entire Rental Group to a team member when setting up their access, which grants them permissions to all rentals within that group at the time of assignment (does not assign rentals that will be added in the same group later)
Financial Management (Rates & Expenses)
Rate Management: The rate settings page uses a hierarchical picker to help you quickly navigate your portfolio and select the correct Rental within a Rental Group. You can also perform bulk rate updates by selecting dates across multiple parent Rental rows within a collapsed group on the Multi-Calendar.
Reports
All Reports can be now filtered by Rental Group. Reports display a hierarchical, tabular structure that aggregates metric totals at the Rental Group level.
