How do I connect and sync rental listings between Hosthub and platforms like WordPress?
How to Connect and Sync Rental Listings Between Hosthub and WordPress
Overview
Connecting and syncing rental listings between Hosthub and platforms like WordPress ensures seamless management of your properties, including synchronization of rates, availability, and bookings. This guide provides a step-by-step process to help you set up and troubleshoot connections effectively.
Prerequisites for Connecting Listings
Before initiating the connection process, ensure the following:
- The rental listing is live on the platform (e.g., WordPress, Airbnb, Booking.com).
- You have the necessary credentials or access permissions for the platform (e.g., admin access for WordPress).
- The listing ID or URL is available for reference.
Step-by-Step Guide for Adding and Syncing Listings
1. Create and Publish the Listing
- Create the listing on the platform (e.g., WordPress) using your preferred booking plugin (e.g., WP Rentals, MotoPress). Ensure the listing is live before proceeding.
- For WordPress, Hosthub syncs using iCal functionality.
2. Add the Listing to Hosthub
- Log in to Hosthub and navigate to Setup > Rentals.
- Select Add New Rental and complete the required details. Don’t forget to click Save.
3. Set Default Rates and Additional Details
- Define default rates for the new rental.
- Add manual blocks (e.g., for maintenance) and seasonal rates if needed.
4. Map the Listing to the Relevant Rental
- Go to Setup > Rentals and open the relevant rental, then go to the Channels tab.
- Click the Link button.
- From the drawer, open the dropdown list and select the listing (e.g., from WordPress) you wish to connect to the rental.
- Click Link & sync now.
- Note: Make sure your rates and manual blocks are already set in Hosthub before linking. If not, use the Calendar and Edit rates buttons to update them first.
- Multi-unit note: Multiple availability is not supported for WordPress. Each accommodation must have exactly one accommodation type in MotoPress, even if the units belong to the same category.
5. Notify Hosthub to Complete the Connection
- Provide the listing ID, name, or URL to Hosthub.
- Ensure all channel passwords are up-to-date.
- Inform the Hosthub team to finalize the connection.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
Issue: WordPress Listings Not Connecting
- Ensure the WordPress site is not frozen due to technical issues (e.g., maximum input variables).
- Verify that the listing is live and accessible on the public channel page.
Issue: Syncing Problems
- Double-check that the listing is added to Hosthub and mapped correctly.
- Confirm that all required credentials and permissions are provided.
