How to Connect and Activate Your Vrbo Channel in Hosthub

Connecting your Vrbo listings to Hosthub lets you manage availability and rates across all your channels from one place. This guide covers how the connection works, what to provide, and how to link individual listings.

Starting the Connection

  1. In Hosthub, go to your Channels page and add a Vrbo channel.
  2. Provide your Vrbo listing's public link (e.g., https://www.vrbo.com/p12156152) so support can identify the correct property.
  3. During activation, Vrbo sends a 6-digit verification code (OTP) to the phone number or email on your Vrbo account. Share this code to continue.

Important:

  • Do not add the same Vrbo channel repeatedly while activation is in progress. Submitting duplicate channels does not speed things up and can cause errors.
  • When submitting the OTP code, be careful not to overwrite your Vrbo password field in the process, as this leads to an "incorrect credentials" error.
  • Once activated, rate mapping takes about 15 minutes to complete.

Multiple Vrbo Accounts

You can have more than one Vrbo channel (for example, tied to different email addresses). If you only need one, keep the synced channel and remove the unused one so it does not show a persistent "not syncing" banner.

Linking Listings to a Rental

After the channel is connected, map each pulled Vrbo listing to the correct rental:

  1. Go to Setup → Rentals and open the relevant rental.
  2. Go to the Channels tab and click the Link button.
  3. From the drawer, open the dropdown list and select the listing you wish to connect.
  4. Click Link & Sync Now.

Note: Make sure your rates and manual blocks are already set in Hosthub before linking. If not, use the "Calendar" and "Edit rates" buttons to update them first.

What Vrbo Supports After Activation

Once connected, Vrbo supports both availability sync and rates sync. See "What settings can I manage for VRBO through Hosthub's Rate Management?" for the full list of what is and isn't sent to Vrbo.

If you allow pets, remember to set the pets limit directly in Vrbo under Listing → Property → Rules & policies → House rules.

Incorrect Credentials Error

If Hosthub returns an "incorrect credentials" error from Vrbo:

  1. Log out of Vrbo.
  2. Log in as a property owner at https://www.vrbo.com/, entering your email and password MANUALLY (do not use auto-fill).
  3. If the credentials are correct, EDIT your existing Vrbo request on Hosthub and fill out the form MANUALLY.

Notes:

  • Sending a new request does not help — always EDIT the existing request.
  • Two failed verification attempts are enough for Vrbo to lock the account, so follow the steps carefully.
