What to do if you don't receive or can't use the email verification (OTP) code when logging in

Email Verification (OTP) Code at Login

When logging in to Hosthub, you may be asked for a one-time verification code (OTP) that is sent to the email address linked to your account. If you don't receive the code, or the code is rejected, follow the steps below.

If you don't receive the code

  1. Check your spam/junk folder. Delivery can sometimes be delayed a few minutes.
  2. Request a new code. Return to the login screen and send a new verification code.
  3. Delete older code emails first. If several code emails are stacked in your inbox, delete the previous ones and request a fresh code. Email clients such as Gmail may group multiple codes under the same thread, which makes it hard to tell which code is the most recent — always use the latest one.
  4. Confirm you're using the correct email. Make sure the code is being sent to the email address currently registered on your account.

If after these steps you still don't receive the code, contact Hosthub support. Support can verify delivery and, if needed, send the code to you directly so you can log in.

If the code is rejected ("incorrect" or "oops, something went wrong")

  • Request a new code and enter the most recent one (older codes expire once a new one is requested).
  • Delete previous code emails so you don't accidentally enter an outdated code.
  • If the problem persists, it may be a temporary issue with the email provider. Report it to Hosthub support so the technical team can investigate.

Changing the email that receives codes and alerts

Verification codes and account alerts are sent to the email address on your primary account. If you've lost access to that email (for example, it was compromised), contact Hosthub support to update your account username and email address. Once updated, codes and alerts will be delivered to the new address, and you can reset your password at https://app.hosthub.com/password-reset/request if needed.

Two-factor authentication (2FA)

Hosthub does not currently offer app-based 2FA or passkeys, though it is on the roadmap. In the meantime, Hosthub applies security measures that analyze and block logins from suspicious sources. To strengthen your account, you can update your password under Settings | Security.
